Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) Training - Hybrid (Zoom, Dental Building 1521)

Ingenuity Pathway Analysis (IPA) Training - Hybrid (Zoom, Dental Building 1521) In-Person / Online

Tufts University Users should follows these instructions to set up their IPA account before attending the workshop:

https://it.tufts.edu/research-technology/bioinformatics/ingenuity-pathway-analysis

Part I: Biomedical Knowledge Base

  • The Biomedical Knowledge Base is an extensive ontology of mechanistic connections between molecular entities, phenotypic information, disease states, that underlies IPA.

Part II: Core Analysis

  • The Core Analysis is the IPA's process for reducing complex ‘omics data sets, generating hypothesis from your data sets. RNA, proteomics, metabolomics, or other ‘omics, can be analyzed to create inferences using our causal reasoning. IPA annotates the canonical pathways, downstream affects upstream regulators and causal networks to organize your finding making biological themes apparent to the non-informatician.

Part III: Lands Explorer and Analysis Match

  • The Lands Explorer allows users to visualize trends in the OmicSoft Lands, a curation of re-normalized content with a controlled vocabulary and unified data structure.

  • Analysis Match allows researchers to view their experimental results into the context of biological systems.

Qiagen has generously relaxed concurrency on the system from now until the end of February. This means that more than one use can be on the system. This is a great time to practice or explore, here is a link to some of the highlights:

Exploring large public data resources through IPA.

Upcoming webinars (February would be a good time to take one!)

Please feel free to take advantage of this extra opportunity whether attending the workshop or not.

The reservation system is located on the IPA page.
