Digital Scholarship Conversations: Sonic Studies In-Person / Online

Digital Scholarship Conversations series is hosted by Tisch Library. Each conversation will focus on a different topic, helping us share ideas and build community around the intersection of digital technology and our research and teaching. View a listing of past topics and speakers.

Title: Sonic Studies

Description: Sound is a powerful medium for sharing and communicating information. This event invites two faculty members, Riccardo Gianconni and Noel Heim, into conversation to briefly share how they each incorporate sound in their courses. Ranging from podcasts and field recordings to music and sound art, each guest's approach offers unique insight into the affordances of engaging with sound as a medium for learning and making sense of our world.

About the speakers

Noel Heim is an Associate Teaching Professor of Earth and Climate Sciences interested in reconstructing the history of Earth's marine biosphere, including ongoing Anthropogenic change.
